A Modeling Portfolio – What is it?

A portfolio is a set of pictures taken by a professional photographer that will be an important tool in getting the best assignments. Generally a portfolio consists of 8-12 best pictures that will be presented to a specific client to create a lasting impression. These photos will consist of black and white to colour depicting the model in various poses ranging in different angles.

A strong portfolio opens opportunities as a weak portfolio could close them. Your portfolio might often be the only thing that a person will see before deciding whether to contact the model. There are qualities that all great portfolios share, and a variety of techniques that can help take your portfolio to the next level. Your portfolio should be appropriate to the situation and reviewer, and all portfolios should show creativity and ambition.

At Steele Models we use one of the best fashion photographers in the country to assure that your portfolio reach an international standard. His work ranges from various published photographs in fashion magazines to shoots for Mr. South Africa, Mrs. South Africa contestants and Mr SA winner 2008.

A fashion shoot with Steele Models include a 5 hour shoot (studio and location) whereby your wardrobe, hair and makeup is supplied to create your different looks. Throughout the photo shoot our fashion photographer and assistant will guide you to get that professional look. From a couple of hundred pictures your 12 best will then be selected and will undergo professional fashion photo editing.

One week after the shoot you will receive your agency portfolio book with your best pictures and login details for your marketing site AT2. AT2 is an international modelling site and is just one of the additional tools that we as an agency use to market our talent.

Your z-cards (A5 size model industry cards) will then be printed by our printing company and supplied you to complete your marketing material. All of this inclusive at one of the most reasonable package deals available in the industry!
